Boozin of the 5000

Subversion attended Boozin of the 5000 in New Cross over the weekend, we caught both Saturday and Sunday but the winning band for us by far was Monkish, who played on the Saturday afternoon.

Slaughterday Festival @ The Purple Turtle

Subversion were lucky enough to attend an all day metal gig at the Purple Turtle on 20th July, organised by Slaughterhouse Promotions.

Spirit of 77 and Defcon Zero @ The Dev

Defcon Zero blew us away in the Dev on Sunday night (20th July). The pub was packed out and there was a lot of moshing in front of the stage, washed down with a mixture of beer, cider and ales.

Rebel Yell @ The Water Rats

On Wednesday 9th July, five bands performed at the Water Rats in Kings Cross. Subversion went to see Rebel Yell, but we also caught Viva Machine, Mills, and To the Bones, the night finished with Nixa.

Assemblage 23 @ The Electrowerks

On July 5th Assemblage 23 performed at The Electrowerks, with free entry to the Slimelight afterwards. They played a long set which lasted around 2 hours and they seemed to play about three encores.

The Money Shot

The Money Shot was an all day charity gig for World Aids Day, raising money for the Terrance Higgins trust. They managed to make over £1000 by the end of the day. Highlights included Captain Howdy’s Flying Circus, Bogus Gasman, Defcon Zero and MaxDmyz.
