Biffy Clyro: Machines

Biffy Clyro - Machines
14th Floor
Biffy Clyro are a band that don't fear evolution. Their latest single 'Machines' is the album closer to the June 2007 album 'Puzzle'. It is an acoustic pleasure about moving on from ruin, growing from experience and using it to “build skyward”. 'Machines' is a straightforward rock harmony and is notably absent of the mid song changes in timing, volume and genre that made up their earlier work.
It starts simply with Simon Neil's powerful voice pouring over an acoustic guitar and builds climatically with soaring violins and twinkling xylophones; succeeding in capturing the optimistic and uplifting mood that the lyrics intend. This beautifully intimate melody bleeds with raw emotion showing that although Biffy may have moved on from complexity, they have not lost their flair for the epic.
